The new GEMS regulations not only cover previous major policies: mandatory minimum energy performance standards (MEPS), energy efficiency labels (ERLS), and equipment energy efficiency plans (E3), and extend energy efficiency to reduce greenhouse gases The scope of emissions and improvement of energy efficiency guides enterprises and consumers to make the best choice from the perspective of running the lowest cost throughout the product life cycle.
From October 1, 2012, Australia and New Zealand will use the energy efficiency certification GEMS certification to replace the previous Australian energy efficiency MEPS certification. GEMS certification is a compulsory certification. Products under control must have GEMS certification before they can be sold on the market, and the applicant must be a company registered in Australia.

Certification process
The first is to select products for testing. The testing standards are consistent with the original MEPS certification. Generally, as long as the test report provided by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory can be recognized;
The second step is to submit the test report and other materials for GEMS registration, and the GEMS certification will be obtained after the data review is passed. The new GEMS regulations mainly have new requirements in terms of registration. Applicants cannot choose a single state for registration, but unified to the Australian 到 Regulator for registration. According to the product category, the registration period is 5 years.
